Dallas Cowboys fullback Deon Anderson was charged with misdemeanor deadly conduct after he allegedly pulled a gun during a dispute early Tuesday morning.

Anderson, 27, faces a sentence of up to a year in jail and a fine up to $4,000.

Anderson was arrested on traffic warrants issued by the city of Irving after getting into a confrontation with several men at a restaurant, according to an Addison, Texas, police incident report.

According to the police report, off-duty police officers working at the BlackFinn restaurant in Addison were alerted that a man was in the parking lot with a gun.

Anderson told ESPNDallas.com his car wouldn’t start after he used valet parking and wanted to know why. Anderson said he didn’t put his hands on anybody or use profanity.

However, according to the Addison police report, the restaurant employee who filed a criminal complaint said Anderson retrieved a handgun from the car and threatened him with it.

Police who were called to the scene retrieved a gun from the shrubs and discovered it was loaded with a round chambered.

Anderson did not respond to ESPNDallas.com on Wednesday for a comment about the arrest warrant. Cowboys officials said Tuesday night they were looking into the incident and did not respond for comment Wednesday regarding the arrest warrant.

NFL spokesperson Greg Aiello said the NFL always looks into any incidents involving arrests with a player to determine possible discipline.

Also arrested at the scene was Anderson’s 25-year-old brother, Devon, on charges of public intoxication.

Police confiscated two weapons at the scene, and Anderson’s car was impounded due to the arrest.

Anderson was booked into the Addison jail Tuesday morning and transferred to an Irving jail, from which he was released after posting bond.
